Snow on Widener’s Daffodils

April 1, 2011

“April is the cruelest month,” T.S. Eliot writes in the first line of his poem “The Wasteland.” I doubt he was referring to sloppy, wet snow on the Phillies opening day, but that’s what we had this April 1 morning at 9 a.m.  on the Widener University campus.  At least the ground is too warm for it to stick.

Back to School at Widener

February 12, 2010

Although parts of the Chester campus resemble the Swiss Alps, Widener University is back in session after a two-day break in which historic snow records were set in the Philadelphia region.  All classes and most events are resuming as scheduled on all four campuses.  For future weather updates, check widener.edulaw.widener.edu or call the Widener University Information Line at 610-499-4600.  (Please note that the Haiti panel discussion has been moved back one week, to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, Kapelski Learning Center, Lecture Hall 1, on Widener’s main campus in Chester.)
