Widener University: Ready, Set…Graduate

May 14, 2010

Chairs fill the lawn behind Old Main in preparation for the graduation ceremony starting at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.  The forecast looked promising as of 1 p.m. Friday.  Check out the comprehensive commencement page for more details, including instructions for inclement weather if necessary and the written messages from Valedictorian Michelle E. Danner and Salutatorian Jennifer A. Williams.

Danner writes in her conclusion:  “Our time here at Widener University is over. These years are already becoming memory. Don’t let them. Don’t let the things you’ve learned, the advice you’ve heard, your struggles and accomplishments here fade, as memories often do. The world we are entering is going through extraordinary times. We are about to encounter twists and turns, rises and falls, unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. But if we remember, as we travel to the corners of the state, the country, and the world, the opportunities offered and seized here—if we remember, if we use, the advice of our mentors, the support of our friends, and the tenacity that brought us here—there is nothing we cannot do.”
