Still Racing After All These Years: PMC Alumnus Weygandt in 45th Consecutive Boston Marathon

April 18, 2011

Neil Weygandt ran his first Boston Marathon when he was a junior at Penn Morton College, one of the predecessors to Widener, in 1967.

Forty-four years later, the 1968 graduate still hasn’t failed to finish the annual race, and today most likely will be no exception.  He is entered today in his 45th consecutive Boston Marathon, a record.   He is in Wave Three, scheduled to start at 10:40 a.m. You can follow his progress on the Boston Marathon web site — he is wearing bib no. 21602 — at http://raceday.baa.org/individual.html.

UPDATE:  Weygandt finished the race, keeping his streak alive.  Congratulations, Neil!
