Widener Grad Elected to Board of Trustees

Widener alumnus Barbara Chamberlain of Williamstown, N.J., one of the university’s new trustees, epitomizes the line Widener Leadership Works.

Chamberlain, who earned her PhD in nursing from Widener in 2007, has served in leadership roles as president of the New Jersey State Nurses Association; program manager for Transforming Care at Bedside; director of research, development, and clinical education for an acute care health system; and an officer in the U.S. Air Force. She has held positions as an academic and clinical faculty member, a clinical nurse specialist, and a staff nurse.

She was elected to the Board of Trustees along with three others in May. She also serves on Widener’s School of Nursing Advisory Board, the Widener Leadership Council, and the Widener University Nurses Alumni Association.
