Widener’s Honors Week is known for showcasing students’ academic prowess, but it also provides an opportunity for them to display their creativity.

The week will begin with FreshBaked Theatre Company’s performance of Goodbye, Marianne at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in Alumni Auditorium. The play depicts the story of an 11-year-old Jewish girl living in Nazi Germany. As part of FreshBaked’s mission, the cast fosters civic engagement through its passion for theatre.

Admission to the performance is by free will cash donation with all funds supporting community aid organizations in Chester. FreshBaked will present another showing of the play on Sunday, March 23.

Other events during Honors Week will include student presentations, honor society inductions, observatory viewings, an open mic, a faculty jazz concert, and a faculty recital. The week will conclude with Honors Convocation on Friday, March 21, featuring an address by Chris Hahn ’99, CEO of Appature, a Seattle technology company he co-founded.
